Position:         Activity Advisor - Twirling Advisor

Department:  Building Level

Reports to:     Building Principal

 

General Description:

To enrich the students school spirit, to make him/her have a sense of pride in the school.

To foster morale, teach leadership and keep it all in the name of discipline and respect.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure safety of students
  • Promote good public relations by personnel appearance, attitude and conversation
  • Interact with superintendent and/or board of education, supervisors and present information as requested
  • Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
  • Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g. student records,
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required
  • Serve as a role model for students
  • Devise, implement and engage in fund raising activities
  • Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee
  • Assist with events related to organization, e.g. pep assemblies, bonfires, raffles,
  • Attend and supervise events in which activity participates
  • Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
  • Plan and coordinate special activities and events
  • Coordinate activities with other groups, events and/or fund raising projects

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Less than one year related experience
  • Such alternative to the above qualifications as superintendent and/or board of education may find appropriate

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Effective, active listening skills
  • Organizational and problem solving skills

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue
  • Occasional interaction with unruly students
  • Occasion requirement to sit, stand, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, balance, climb,
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 20 lbs. pounds
  • Occasional evening /weekend/summer work
  • Occasional travel, e.g., attending matches
  • Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions, i.e., being prepared to work on all scheduled school days, except calamity days
  • Occasion repetitive hand motion, e.g., computer keyboard, writing
  • Frequent requirement to walk, stoop, kneel, read and hear
